The Okinawa Sanshin is a 3 stringed musical instrument from Okinawa. It predates the more modern Japanese instrument the shamisen. For this reason it is sometimes referred to as the Okinawa Shamisen.
When I was trying to learn sanshin I found it very difficult to find useful information relating to sanshin's in English, because most of the good websites were in Japanese.
